after a long phase of planning the construction finally got started with the laying of the corner stone on August 13.
Here we will inform you reguarly about the progress of this project with pictures in our galerie.
Of course there will be no changes or disturbances to our daily dive shedule due to the construction. |

That was quite a surprise when we found a seal in our atoll. After a rest on the beach on Gan island (see pictures in the galery) he swam over to the neighbouring island Vilingili. Sadly it was found dead the next morning - his long journey must have been too tiring and exhausting...

Dear Diverlander,
Unbelievable but true, next year we are going to have a big party:
20 YEARS DIVERLAND!
This is definitely a reason to celebrate and we want to do so together with you!
From 12.-18. March 2006 we will celebrate on Embudu Village one week, on the island and under water.
Lots of our diving instructors of the last 20 years will be here, so you can catch up old memories and enjoy new diving adventures together.
Of course we have a very special present for you:
Divers with Diverland stamp in the logbook from 1986-1990 will dive for free this week!!!!
Divers with Diverland stamp in the logbook from 1991-1995 will get a 75% reduction this week!!!!
Divers with Diverland stamp in the logbook from 1999-2000 will get a 50% reduction this week!!!!
Divers with Diverland stamp in the logbook from 2001-2005 will get a 25% reduction this week!!!!
(Logbook has to be presented, not transferable, valid only on list price of the booked diving package)
During this week Joni Madden will entertain us with 2 live concerts. The American singer lives in Austria and is for sure one of the best voices in Europe. Read more about her on www.jonimadden.com.
As in good old times we will have beach party, beach barbecue and boat party!
You can’t miss that – can you? So hurry up and make your booking with a travel agency; of course we want to celebrate with all of you!

Many of you will know the name Axel Horn, as Axel lives and dives in the Maldives already since 1978.
Axel run Diverland Embudu until 1988 and after leading the diving bases on Ellaidhoo and Bandos, he will return to Diverland mid of March and holds the position as Baseleader for Diverland Gan. Axel has been the first to introduce Nitrox, semiclosed and closed Rebreather diving in the Maldives. Know he meets the challenge to offer this also in the most southern Maldivian atoll.
We look forward to working with Axel again and we welcome him in the Diverland Team.

Juergen Rudorf, who has been leading Diverland Gan for the past 3 years, is leaving us mid of March to follow his second pleasure after diving and will go for some extensive travelling. We would like to thank Juergen for his efforts and who knows, maybe we will see him again with Diverland...?!
