New attraction on the house reef

Sure you remember "Noor 6", the boat which has been camped near Bungalow 50 over the past years. Finally we were allowed to sink it on our Summer Island house reef. After 2 hours the boat has been in the water and dragged to its last resting-place; the plugs been pulled and the boat started slowly but surely to sink. Everything went according to plan and the boat lies upright on the ground in 13 to 17 meters.

Ghostpipefish at the housereef

Since a few days we have some new residents at Summer Islands housereef. It is about two Ghostpipefish who made themselves comfortable in about 15 meters depth. This species is able to change the colour and therefore they are very good in disguise; but of course we love to help you to find them however. Thanks to Pete and Mandy for the great pictures!

Guitarshark
Surprise on the house reef!
After seeing these kind of rays / sharks quite often in the past months on the house reef and on several dive sites close bay.
Jürgen finally had the chance to take some pictures.
The stingrays at the small wreck are also getting much more active...

Comfortably hidden beauties...

Over time the whitetip and grey reef sharks have been joined by another party to add to the beauty of diving at Kuda Faru. Comfortably hidden in the corals at 13 meters waits “Fred”, a leaf fish we have come to know and love.
Devil’s Rock also has something new waiting to be discovered, or to be more precise, searched for. At a depth between 12 and 30 meters three beautiful Frog Fish lay petrified among the corals waiting to be added to your portfolio of underwater photos. Unlike “our” leaf fish, these three like to play hide and seek by moving around more often then not, adding to the excitement of finding such a fish!

New visitor at the housereef
Besides our regular inhabitants on the house reef (sting rays, Nemos, Lion Fishes, Morays, Batfishes,...) we got a new visitor: a guitar shark, about 1.8m big regularly appears in 15m depth, where he stays some time and rests.
Or maybe he just got curious about what is happening down there. Lately we sank and built some small attractions to offer new shelter for the fishes.
